Accessibility
The accessibility rules require that the information and services offered on web pages can also be used by people with disabilities who use computer tools, regardless of the operating system, the browsing tools and the browser settings. The accessibility and usability features of the Mediterranea Domus website are described below.
Accessibility features of the site
The pages of the site are designed with attention to the accessibility and usability of the web, with reference to the recommendations of the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) and to Law no. 4/2004 (the “Stanca Law”).
Resizable text
The style sheets use relative units of measurement, so that text can be enlarged or reduced from the browser settings (for example with Ctrl or Cmd + the plus or minus key, or from the View or Zoom menu) without losing content.
Descriptive text for links and images
Links have text that describes the action that follows from clicking. Informative images (for example the photos of the homes and the maps for getting here) have alternative text that describes them for those who use screen readers; purely decorative images are used as backgrounds.
Brightness differences and colour contrast
The background/text colour pairs are defined in the style sheets with brightness and contrast levels designed to ensure legibility.
Structure, tables and forms
Tables are not used for layout. The pages use a semantic structure (headings, lists, sections), form fields have associated labels and the navigation menu can also be used from the keyboard.
Navigation aids
The main menu is at the top of every page and the pages are linked to each other by paths (breadcrumbs) and by links in the footer.
Notes and reports
The updating of the pages and their alignment with the specifications above is carried out gradually: some pages may temporarily be non-compliant. If you encounter an accessibility problem, please report it by writing to: info@mediterraneadomus.com or through the Contact page.
